Woah. This must’ve been one of the most badass first episodes this season. It was full of action and gore, and it was made of win. But I saw it a few days ago, and my memory is foggy, so mistakes should be anticipated.
Anyway, ga-rei-zero focuses on a team of ghostbusters, who fight the supernatural. The first episode was really actiony, not giving a lot of information on the characters and plot, but instead centered more on cool people in orange suits fighting ghosts.
When fire fighters failed to take care of a large fire caused by zombie ghost things, the cool orange people showed up and pwnt them, Natsuki with her motorcycle and Tooru with guns. A giant ghost dragon appears, but that one’s pwnt as well… and finally, the biggest one yet comes in, and Tooru manages to fend it off with Natsuki and the team. Afterwards, though, a Level A (ghosts are ranked A, B, C, or D depending on the danger level) gets in and kills everyone but Tooru, and he has a flashback, and I’m like “Whut” but then it ended.
Action was done well, but I wouldn’t preferred a bit more dialogue and information. I have no clue what was with the end flashback, but that evil guy looked like Near from Death Note. >_< Also likes fiyah and blue butterflies? I don’t know. But ga-rei-zero is interesting. I won’t blog it, but I’ll definitely check out the next few episodes.
Shikabane-hime Aka is next:

I don’t know why, but for some reason, I didn’t really like Shikabane. It’s about an undead girl, Makina, and her quest to reach heaven. And in order to do so, she needs to kill 108 other corpses, or shikabane as they’re known.
I need to write a summary, but I really don’t want to. D: So I’m not gonna. But what I will say is that, again, Shikabane-hime Aka didn’t appeal to me that much. No clue why.
Kyou no Go no Ni up next.

Kyou no Go no Ni focuses on a bunch of fifth graders that mess around and do stupid things and whatnot. Supposedly it’s a comedy, but I can’t remember the last time I forgot to laugh this much. Yes, it was that funny.
…
NO.
The character designs were inconsistent, and while this was probably done on purpose, it ticked me off. Fifth graders aren’t that interesting, either (forgive me, younger sister). If I had to pick a favorite scene, it would be the guitar part, but that was the best it got. Sorry, I’m skipping a summary on this, too.

Yay. Kannagi, on the other hand, was pretty decent. It was about Mikuriya Jin, who sculpted a girl out of wood, but a few minutes later, it turned into Nagi, a real girl. Throughout the episode, Nagi discovers the joys of magical girl shoujo anime, taiyaki, and probably much more as the series goes on.
As usual, I haven’t read the manga. The OP was cute, and the funny parts were, well, funny. I liked the whole impurities thing, lulz. I have to decide on what I’m definitely blogging and what I’m definitely not, but i I have open spaces, Kannagi will be blogged. :3
btw, I disappeared for multiple days because I lost internet connection. But now that I have it, I have to be careful. I don’t know if my poor soul can stand waiting for Junjou Romantica 2 subs while the raws are already out. >_<
