Natsume Yuujinchou 13 (Final) - Zomfg, I needs a second season.

Wow, over already? That went fast. The final episode of Natsume Yuujinchou was really peaceful, and it had a dreamy, hazy feel. They brought back tons of characters from previous episodes, and of course, they just HAD to use the classic firework ending, didn’t they?

This episode didn’t have a story, so to speak. More of a subtle way to close off everything, but also open up another question. Because they threw in that one part where that seme superstar from that one episode went into that meeting thingy, you know there’s going to be a second season.

But anyway, I should get started on the summary, as I’m limited on time. It kicks off with Takashi calling for Nyanko, cuz Nyanko mentioned a shortcut to Nanatsujiya, but Takashi couldn’t find it (This is why we have GPS.). Nyanko, however, was somewhere off in a corn field with a small path, but he slipped and fell and crashed into Tanuma. I had a flashback, right here, remembering the time I was watching School Rumble and in Tenma’s dream, a cat hit her at like, 30 mph and she turned into a cat. Lulz.

So Tanuma tries waking up Nyanko, cuz he’s out cold, and decides that Ponta’s a better name. LIES. NYANKO FTW, BIZNATCH. (My consummation of a very large amount of pretzels is pretty noticeable, ne?) Nyanko reveals the fact that he’s a youkai by accident, and Tanuma’s like, “YEAH, I TOTALLY KNEW THAT.” But Tanuma keeps on calling him Ponta, and so Nyanko, being his overly aggressive self, decides to beat him up, but Takashi interferes, and Tanuma is saved.

Nyanko dashes off to soem festival in the distance, and Takashi follows, since you know, some random youkai will jump out and beat him up for his lunch money Book of Friends. And, of course, Tanuma tags along.

The festival is still being prepared, so the trio walk around a bit, before bumipng into whatsername, the really annoying kid who keeps on badgering (love that word) Takashi for some info on the local youkai. Luckily, Takashi manages to get away, and he and Tanuma head off to Tanuma’s house to wait for the festival to begin. Poor Nyanko is left behind, sleeping, because he ate too much. Ah, Nyanko, you somewhat annoying comical relief.

I’m getting bored writing about pre-festival stuff! So I’m giong to abbreviate things. A lot. I’m going for one or two sentences. -takes deep breath- So at his house they talk about a pond that Tanuma can’t see but Takashi can but Tanuma can see the reflection on the ceiling since he can sorta kinda not really see youkai and then the clock rings and the scene switches to Takashi’s parents and they’re talking about how Takashi is too reserved and he should be more open and familiar around them and then it switches back to the festival and that cute fox boy girl thing gets there and so does that seme and so does that blue haired youkai whose name i also forgot. -is panting- I dare you to say that all in one breath. Seriously.

Yay! Now I can slow down a little. I’m going to address each happening singularly, so I don’t ahve to go back and forth. Let’s start with Nyanko’s story, because I feel like it. Basically Whatsername catches him in the hopes that Takashi would have to go back and get him, so she could talk to him again. But that girl from a few episodes ago (you know, the white piglet thing?) sees him and unties him, yays. But she starts a free for all and is dragging him by the rope still attached to his neck, and it must be the most hilarious thing ever. Lulz. Except for maybe “DON’T TASE ME, BRO” I’m not entirely sure what happens directly after that, though, because it’s been at least 8 hours, but I do know that Nyanko gets to join the group at the end.

Next was that seme superstar guy again, who had one of his minions watch over the little boygirl fox thing. Yay. The only other interesting thing he did was arrive at this meeting full of old people, seems suspicious.

And now the boygirl fox thing him/herself. (Supposed to be boy? Yeah right.) He runs around, looking for Takashi, and loses his pouch. The minion of (that’s it, I’m going to find out his name…) Natori’s helps find it, and then they bump into Takashi, lucky for them.

Tanuma and Takashi wander around a bit, and have fun. I really liked the part with the weird old guy, though:

Wow.

Wow. Anyway, he, the fox, and Tanuma eventually get to a spot where they can see the fireworks, and Nyanko jumps in, the end, the world is happy. Oh, did I mention the giant youkai in the way?

More wow.

Lulz. So that’s that.

I felt that this first series was more of a prelude than an actual series. It did a good job of introducing all the main characters, and I assume the characters at the very end, in the picture above, along with Natori and his group, will be the main characters in the next series. I’m betting on that Natori will be one of the bad guys, and that the meeting he went to was full of other youkai-seeing people. Just guessing. Anyway, this was definitely of the highlights of the fall season, and the next series will be blogged, cuz its cool. Yeah.
